• Costa Rica (July-August 2019) Biological and Cultural Studies Two dozen students explored the rich culture and biological diversity of Costa Rica during this academic trip led by DeLaSalle teachers. Students experienced overnight stays in San Jose, the Osa Peninsula, Dominical, and the Manuel Antonio National Park.

• Italy (June-July 2018): Art and Lasallian Leadership Two dozen students earned DeLaSalle and St.Marys University credit through this  course. Islanders explored some of Italy’s most significant art and architecture, visited and completed a service project with the De La Salle Christian Brothers, and attended a general audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

• Bolivia (July-August 2017): Social Determinants of Health in Bolivia DeLaSalle partnered with St. Catherine’s University to offer students college credit for a 15-day international academic trip in the Andes Mountains, Madidi National Park, Lake Titicaca, and LaPaz. St. Catherine Professor  joined DeLaSalle faculty in co-teaching this unique topic and guiding students to some of the most geographically interesting places on earth.

• Ecuador (June 2016)  Art, Altitude and Raptors DeLaSalle students earned four semester hours of Hamline University credit through this program, an interdisciplinary study of art and biology. During the trip, DeLaSalle students visited and spent time with students from Colegio Hermano Miguel, a Lasallian school in Cuenca.

• Costa Rica July 2014: Biology and Sustainable Economics DeLaSalle sent two groups of students to Costa Rica in the summer of 2016. One group participated in a monthlong Spanish and science immersion, during which they lived with host families and worked with English teachers at CEDES Don Bosco and CTA Santa Ana High Schools to assess students on their conversational and written English. A separate group of students spent a shorter period of time in country, discovering Costa Rica from an anthropological, economical, and biological lens, visiting several parks and natural ecological areas.
• Italy (2015)Turin Italy - From Food to Table   This course  focused on the chemistry and biology of food as it related to food production and consumption. In addition, the course examined the flora and fauna of Northern Italy and included the foothills of the Gaian Alps and the Pelagos Marine Sanctuary of the Mediterranean Sea.
• Brazil  (2015)  Introduction to African Americana and African Diaspora Studies  An introduction to the study of peoples of African descent in the United States and in the broader African diaspora.  The central concern is how race, gender and class shape the lives of people of African descent. Salvador, Bahia Brazil will be the central hub of the course.
